In the shadow of the dome of the Sanctuary of the Madonna del Popolo, the third largest in Piedmont, the Somaschi Fathers have tended a vegetable garden for centuries. Today, on the model of the ancient hortus conclusus, a precious garden has been revived, a space for contemplation and a tour dedicated to edible and ornamental flowers, monitored by the Department of Agricultural and Forestry Sciences and Food of the University of Turin. It has recovered a portion of the green area of the historic center of the city integrating it in the walk to visit the ancient town that leads to the ramparts. An original and articulated path that will guide the visitor through a botanical plant rich in dozens of different species.
